If you’ve started posting content, doing outreach, joining podcasts—and still haven’t landed your first coaching client—you’re not alone.

But here’s the truth: it doesn’t have to take months. In fact, you can get your first client in as little as 7 days, even if you’re just starting.

This blog walks you through a step-by-step plan to do exactly that.

Step 1: Lock In the Foundations

Before you try anything else, you need clarity on two key things:

1. Your Ideal Client (ICP)

Get specific. Not “women who want to lose weight”—but “Mary, a 45-year-old mom of 3 with a busy job who’s struggling to find time for herself.”

Put your ideal client on a Google Doc. This clarity will guide every part of your marketing.

2. Your Offer

Your offer is simply a solution to your ICP’s problem. Don’t overthink it. Just write out the transformation you want to help them achieve.

Example: “I help busy moms lose 30 pounds in 90 days without giving up carbs or wine.”

You can build this clarity in less than 48 hours—don’t wait for it to be perfect.

Step 2: Generate Awareness

Your biggest enemy right now isn’t competition—it’s obscurity. People can’t buy from you if they don’t know you exist.

There are only 3 ways to generate awareness:

1. Content

Free but slow. Social posts don’t reach most of your audience unless they go viral. Not ideal if you're trying to get clients quickly.

2. Outreach

Pull out your phone. Start messaging people you know who fit your ICP—or who might know someone who does.

This method works, but many coaches feel resistance here.

3. Paid Ads (Recommended for Speed)

Running a simple Facebook ad lets you put a message in front of your dream client—fast.

Example of a simple ad:
“Got pain? Are you 40+ with aches, pains, or tightness? Join our free community to fix it now.”

You don’t need fancy graphics. Some clients literally use a screenshot of text from their Notes app—and it works.

Even if you’re not great on camera, you can run ads with image posts and still get leads. One of our clients got her first lead at $4.72 per lead, and her first client within 7 days.

Step 3: Nurture and Book the Call

Once people are aware of you, you need to build trust and start conversations.

Here’s how:

  • Call leads who opt in (don’t wait for them to book)

  • Ask about their goals and struggles

  • Show that you understand and can help

You’re not trying to convince them—just connect and serve.

Tip: End the conversation with a simple ask—
“If there were a way I could help you lose the weight without overwhelming your schedule, would you be open to a conversation about working together?”

This “If I could, would you” framework moves the conversation naturally toward the sale.

Step 4: Sell With Confidence

You don’t need a fancy script.

You just need to clearly communicate that you can solve their problem.

Here’s what matters most:

  • Show them you understand their current situation

  • Share how your system solves their specific problem

  • Paint a picture of the transformation

  • Ask them to move forward

Remember, if someone has pain and you have the solution, you're not selling—you’re serving.
